Bad Call Robs Fans of OT Play

What a game! Despite the loss today 28-27, we could not have asked more from our Husky team! What an improvement over last weeks game. It was a beautiful day in Seattle. These pictures were taken from the section where our seats are located - as you can see lake Washington was packed with boating Husky fans!
We lost due to one of the worst judgment calls you will ever see! Jake Locker ran for a 3-yard touchdown to put the Huskies within a field goal of tying the game with BYU, he threw the ball behind his neck so he could hug his teammates in order to properly enjoy a thrilling moment as the we were celebrating in the stands.

He was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct for his celebration, a point of emphasis for officials this season. It was a bad call and the new emphasis is one thing for taunting, but celebrating with teammates is another. The call was made by John Freitas, Pac 10 official. This new rule will be a topic of discussion all season! This was not premeditated and taunting - terrible call!

It's going to be difficult not to start the season 0-3 with Oklahoma in town next week.

Despite the loss there were several things for us to be greatful for. We moved up a couple of seats as did all the people we like the most and have connected with over the past four years. Great people to sit with each game! We also met our friends Mario and Vel following the game for drinks. Vel and Mario are a nice couple we met last year at Red Robin following the game. It's funny how you meet people that you really connect with and develop a friendship. Next week we are going to tailgate with them for the first time! I'm really looking forward to it.

So regardless of the loss - the Huskies played well and stayed in the game the entire time. Good job Dawgs!
Later -
Jim
