Eugene Marathon

Kent and I both just finished great runs this morning Kent in the half and me in the full marathon in Eugene!

We are both pretty happy with our times. Kent completed in just over 2:10 and I completed in under 3:50. No official times posted yet.

Eugene is a great little community that we enjoy visiting. Headed back to Seattle now. Our next official race is San Francisco in July but I may run a couple of other ones in the mean time as training runs at a very slow pace.

Have a great day!

Eugene Marathon Weekend

We are in Eugene for the marathon tomorrow. Looks like we will have great running weather. Busy weekend between Art Walk in Olympia last night

and now the Marathon tomorrow.

We went to a great play at the Seattle Center on Thursday night called - The Art of Racing in the Rain. The book was written by a local author and I really liked it. It was great as a play too! The New Chuhuly Glass Museum is on the campus of the Seattle Center. It looks like its getting ready to open. It's going to be pretty cool!

More update from the marathon tomorrow!

DC Week

It's been a long week that has finally come to and end here in DC. I arrived on Monday and the conference I attended and presented at ended today. We all fly home tomorrow. We had a King County meeting this morning and there were 24 of is present! King County was well represented. This is a good thing in that it means that we are continually working to improve the quality of the work we do in King County. The conference was three days and I presented on each day in different presentations - one was one the importance of partnership between the justice system and treatment, another on the implementation of evidenced based practices across systems of care with my colleagues from Denver and finally the prevalence of Opioid addiction among youth and young adults with my colleagues from Ohio.

The conference was held at the Washington Hilton which we learned is locally called the Hinkley Hilton as it is the site where John Hinkley attempted to assassinate Regan.

I actually stayed at the Kimpton in Dupont Circle as opposed to the conference hotel. I love the Kimpton's!

It looks like I was there for a month based on my closet but it was truly only a week!

So I really did not have a lot of time for touristing around other than the three runs I was able to get in while here.

Mind you when it looks like I had a ton of time to tourist around these pictures were actually taken in either the evening on a fun or in the very early morning before the conference.

Headed home tomorrow! Will be glad to be home to see my husband and the pups!

Easter Weekend Hike

Since Kent and I don't celebrate Easter we have gone on the same drive through the Yakima Canyon each Easter weekend for over 10 years. We usually look at the weather and go on whichever Easter weekend day looks better. This year it was Saturday.

After a burger at Miners in Yakima we headed down to the Columbia River Gorge to one of our favorite stops along the way - The Mary Hill Museum.

The highlight of the day was a short hike to the top of McCall Point. Beautiful views of the Columbia River, Mt. Adams and Mt. Hood.

From there we headed to Hood River - one of our favorite towns along the river.

Dinner in Vancouver and then home. Called our friend Barb who lives in Portland but she was busy.

Easter Sunday will be busy - I've got a 16 mile run to do tomorrow and I have to pack for a business trip to DC that I leave for on Monday.

Have a great Easter everyone!
