There is nothing better than garden fresh peas! Our garden is off to a slow start this year (except for the weeds) due to the heavy rain and cool temperatures - the peas however love it! As you can see from the picture I took today in our garden the peas are nearly ready to harvest.

I wish I had a garden. Luckily my friend brings me fresh herbs from her garden.
ReplyDeleteY mum always got fresh peas from the market - I remember the smell and helping her shell it - the taste is so awesome!
Everything tastes so much better when it's from the garden...enjoy :)
ReplyDeleteThere are two problems with fresh peas.
ReplyDelete1. The ratio of pod to the number of peas. You can spend an hour shucking (correct term?) and end up with a small handful of peas.
2. i love the taste of fresh, raw peas so much that they never make it into the kitchen. I automatically eat whatever pops out of the pod.
